Membership provisions and conditions:

The membership working in a union is determined for any member who has a university degree "at least bachelor" or its equivalent from one of the universities or higher institutes recognized by the union in one of the following major areas:

  • Information technology.
  • Computer science.
  • Information systems.
  • Software Engineering.
  • Communications Engineering.
  • Graphic.
  • Network engineering.
  • E-commerce.
  • And any other technological or programmatic fields approved by the Bar Council.

The main engineering, programmatic and technical fields are defined in the bylaws

Membership Types:

  • Active membership.
  • Associate Membership.
  • Honorary Membership.

Membership Conditions:

The applicant for working membership must fulfill the following conditions:

  • To be a Yemeni by nationality.
  • That he meets the conditions of Article (10) of Chapter Three.
  • To abide by the statute and work to achieve the goals of the union.
  • Be committed to paying the prescribed fees and monthly subscriptions.
  • He must not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, if he is rehabilitated.

Associate Membership:

In order to obtain membership affiliated with a Yemeni national, the following conditions are required:

  • To be applied to him by Shatt of Paragraph (a) in Article 12 of Chapter Three.
  • He must have a diploma in Information and Communications Technology for a period of study not less than two years after high school.

To obtain the membership of Arab ICT engineers, the following is required:

  • That condition (2,3,4,5) of paragraph (a) in Article 12 of Chapter Three applies to them.
  • They have a valid residence permit for the country.
  • Be bound by the unions laws and regulations.

Honorary Membership:

By a decision of the Bar Council and upon nomination by the Executive Office, honorary membership of the Syndicate may be granted to those who have provided great services to the technology and telecommunications profession or to the Yemeni Information and Communications Technology Syndicate.

Engineers, programmers and consultants who are nationals of foreign countries who have the right to practice the profession in their country have the right to register their names in special records in the union provided that the following conditions are met:

  • That condition (2,3,4,5) of paragraph (a) in Article 12 of Chapter Three applies to them.
  • They must have a valid residence permit in the country.
  • Be bound by the unions laws and regulations.
  • That their countrys laws permit Yemeni engineers and programmers to reciprocate.
